It has been decided that the Life-Sized Unicorn Statue that stands in Festival Plaza in DiverCity Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba, Tokyo will have its first projection mapping event as an integration of the “TOKYO Gundam Project 2018”.

The projection mapping will be set during the Universal Century, the start of the advancement to humanity in space and humans living in space, and will show a collaboration of the world of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicornwith “visuals x light x music”.

The wall video will feature a video following a history that have proceeded towards further space development after the success of the first piloted spaceflight by humanity. You’ll also be able to enjoy famous scenes that have unfolded throughout the Universal Century with the use of footage from the anime.

The transformation of the statue from Unicorn Mode to Destroy Mode performed together with the projection mapping will be an impressive performance that cannot be witnessed any other time but during this period.

The event will be from April 21^st(Sat) to May 6^th(Sun), so definitely be sure to take this opportunity to visit Odaiba.

The 18m Life-Sized Gundam Statue attracted much public attention, bringing joy and excitement, since 2009. The new Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue was then introduced in September 2017.

Through the TOKYO Gundam Project, the Gundam Statue rose for the future of Tokyo, supporting the revitalization of the Tokyo Rinkai Fukutoshin area and the nurturing of global human resources in Tokyo. Along with providing practical international exchange opportunities to the young generation, the project will develop policies that aim for further revitalization and the promotion of tourism in the Rinkai Fukutoshin area.
