With the help from the “Desert Dawn” guerillas, Strike Gundam was able to repulse the attacking force of the BuCUEs led by Waltfeld. After daybreak, other members of Desert Dawn guerillas join the Archangel. Kira recognizes the girl from Heliopolis, Cagalli Yula Athha, and both are surprised with the encounter.
Murrue and the crew are led to the resistance’s hideout by the leader Sahib and hear the fall of the Alliance’s Africa base, Victoria spaceport. The fall means the only route to Alaska for the Archangel is to go through the Red Sea and then to the Pacific Ocean. And “Desert Tiger” Waltfeld and the land battleship Lesseps await in its route.
Around the same time, Waltfeld is preparing a revenge attack against the “Desert Dawn.” It becomes night again, and the crew of the Archangel take a moment of rest. Kira is refining the adjustments of Strike Gundam in preparation for the battle with the Lesseps when he is caught into Flay and Sai having an argument. Kira gets confused, but then Flay discloses to Sai that she is involved with Kira. In rage, Sai questions Kira. Kira finally explodes from all the pent-up emotions he has been holding onto. Meanwhile, the night sky glow in red… The town of Tassil, where the rebels’ family live, is burning.
