Contact is lost with Strike Gundam and 2nd unit Sky Grasper, and the Archangel is in chaos. Moreover, the ZAFT’s pursuit is closing in on the severely damaged Archangel. Not a moment must be lost before leaving this site…but can they leave behind their missing comrades?
Murrue overcomes this crisis by sending, in desperate measures, a rescue signal to Orb. Meanwhile, the critically damaged ZAFT’s Zala Team also receives order to abort the mission and to recall.
When the Orb rescue team arrives at the scene, all they find are the wreckage of Strike Gundam and the brutally destroyed debris of Aegis Gundam. And the team rescue the ZAFT soldier wearing a red pilot suit, Athrun, found unconscious in the water, who barely ejected from Aegis Gundam. Cagalli listens to the details of the fight from Athrun who regained consciousness. And she also listens to his confession that he killed Kira. She loses control and becomes wild, asking why he killed him. And Athrun, suffering from a guilty conscience, could only shout at Cagalli. He cries and says that Kira was an enemy…and there was no other way…
Before long, ZAFT comes for Athrun. Cagalli gives Athrun her precious guardian Haumea stone in hopes that there will be no more death…
