In a PLANT, Athrun has a day off after a long time and drives to Lacus’ mansion for a visit. Clyne’s estate is located at an exclusive residential area in PLANT, and the two happily enjoy chatting. Athrun hears from Lacus that Kira still cherishes his gift Birdy, and feels depressed.
Meanwhile, their fathers are having a heated argument in the PLANT Supreme Council whether to continue the war or to coexist with the Naturals. Though pressured from the hardliner Patrick Zala, who is trying to put Operation Spit Break in motion, the moderate Siegel Clyne still struggle and yearn for a way to make peace.
On the other hand, the Archangel crew at the resistance camp is also discussing their battle plan with the rebels against “Desert Tiger.” Sahib suggests using an area that they have already filled with land mines and lure the enemies there, though Mu is worried about the inevitable number of casualties among Sahib’s men. However, the rebels are resolved.
In the meantime, Kira struggles and breaks away from Flay, who knocked him onto the bed, and runs out of the room.
A new battle is about to begin…
