MG 1/100 SINANJU STEIN (NARRATIVE Ver.) Ver.Ka

SCROLL

MESSAGE from Hajime Katoki

There were originally two Sinanju Steins in the world of the series. This was made clear from the beginning of the "Gundam Unicorn" novel series, but the role that the second Sinanju Stein played was kept hidden until "Gundam Narrative" was written. Some of you may remember there was another Sinanju Stein Ver.Ka that released about 10 years ago when there were still no plans to feature the MS in the animated "Gundam Unicorn" series, which was yet to be concluded. This time, we incorporated settings from the animated "Gundam Narrative" film and created engravings of Neo Zeon on the sleeves consisting of parts division, which can be recreated by simply assembling the kit. You can see that it embodies GUNPLA technology from the past 10 years. It also adopts design arrangements unique to this GUNPLA such as gimmicks where the Beam Naginata can be divided and stored.

This is a Master Grade Brand managed by Hajime Katoki, who handles the concept designs for plastic model kits such as MG and HG kits.
Hajime Katoki and the BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division have teamed up to take on new challenges while developing each kit. Hajime Katoki’s supervision spans from elements such as the color of the plastic parts to the designs of the marking decals. The product photos, package illustrations, and instruction manual are also manufactured under the direction of Hajime Katoki.

HISTORY

The Fate of the Unicorn Gundam’s Sibling Units

  • U.C.0094 Sinanju Stein Hijacking Incident MG 1/100
    SINANJU STEIN
    Ver.Ka

These Mobile Suits were developed under the UC Project and implemented Psycho-Frames. Their development code was Stein 01. The two units were made to test the strength and tracing abilities of Psycho-Frames and to measure their performance limits. Although they were not originally intended for manned operations, they were “stolen” in U.C.0094 and ended up in the hands of the Neo Zeon remnants known as ‘The Sleeves'.
  • U.C.0096 Laplace Incident MG 1/100
    SINANJU Ver.Ka

One of the two stolen units was refurbished to be used exclusively by Full Frontal, the leader of The Sleeves. This unit was clad in crimson armor as Frontal, who was rumored to be “the second coming of Char Aznable,” was to be its pilot, and it was also embellished with classic revival-style decorations. Frontal maneuvered the Sinanju with unbelievable skill and combined it with the Neo Zeong, a massive Mobile Armor, cornering the Unicorn Gundam during their final battle.
  • U.C.0097 Operation Phoenix Hunt MG 1/100
    SINANJU STEIN
    (NARRATIVE Ver.)Ver.Ka
The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex, which had gone missing two years ago, was witnessed in the Earth Sphere, and the Earth Federation Forces and Luio & Co. cooperated in launching Operation Phoenix Hunt to capture it. The Republic of Zeon also sought out the Phenex and gave the remaining Sinanju Stein to Cyber-Newtype Zoltan Akkanen as a means to intervene in the operation.

Decorations on the Chest and Cuffs Reproduced with Parts Division and Parts Colors.

The decorations on the cuffs and chest that gave the The Sleeves (Neo Zeon remnants) their name have been applied to Zoltan's unit.
The engravings have white on black designs that match the color scheme of the MS and are reproduced for this Ver.Ka kit.

The chest and cuffs are embellished with engravings to disguise the MS as a unit belonging to The Sleeves, a group of Neo Zeon remnants. For this kit, the patterns consisting of curves are made with separate parts and are recreated with parts colors.

The decorative chest section area functions as a cockpit hatch consisting of four separate parts. The color scheme seen in the film is reproduced with the colors of the parts, enabling a faithful recreation by assembling the kit.

POINT.02An Updated Version that Matches
the Settings from the "Mobile Suit
Gundam Narrative" Film

The Sinanju Stein had appeared in games and side story novels, and certain aspects of its design were changed such as the decorations on the chest and forearms and it received a pair of Beam Axes when the second unit appeared in the animated "Gundam Narrative" film.
Various sections of this Ver.Ka edition have been updated under the supervision of Katoki to match the specifications of the settings for the film.

An Updated Version that Matches the Settings from the

Despite having a silhouette reminiscent of Zeon Mobile Suits, its exterior armor consists of straight lines, an iconic feature of Earth Federation Mobile Suits. The dark gray color scheme from the animated film has also been recreated.

The backpack has six thruster nozzles capable of generating explosive propulsion, and the propellant tanks are the same size as those used by Full Frontal’s red Sinanju.

The axes can change into a Beam Naginata or be attached to the shield! Exciting parts rearranging gimmicks!

Beam Axes
(Combined Form)

The ends of the Beam Axes can be combined using a joint part, enabling them to be used as a Beam Naginata. The handle is longer than the weapon used by the red Sinanju. Two types of beam blades with different lengths can be attached to the ends. The beam blades are reproduced with clear yellow effect parts.

Beam Axes (Combined Form)

The state where the Beam Axes were connected had an overall flat and monotonous appearance during the design stage, and instructions were written to add concaves/convexes to the part.

The Beam Axes were stored in the hull unit of the II Neo Zeong in the animated series. The Sinanju Stein combined the Beam Axes and charged towards Phenex in a climactic scene from the film.

Two Beam Axes and a joint part to recreate the combined state are included. The Beam Axes handles and blade generators can be separated, allowing them to be mounted onto two different locations.

Instructions were written to add concaves/convexes in 0.2 to 0.3 mm increments to the Beam Ax handles and the joint part.

The axes can change into a Beam Naginata or be attached to the shield! Exciting parts rearranging gimmicks!

A Grenade Launcher, two Beam Axes, and the joint part can be stored on the back of the shield. The attachment positions of the Beam Axes can be changed to be deployed forward.

The axes can change into a Beam Naginata or be attached to the shield! Exciting parts rearranging gimmicks!

The back of the shield has a new design to mount the Beam Axes. Instructions were written to eliminate chamfering (cut-away surfaces on the corners of parts) on sections on the back of the shield and to correct steps and gaps.

The High Beam Rifle has been modified into a structure where jacket parts are placed over the Sinanju's Beam Rifle. The grip cover can be opened to mount the Bazooka or the Grenade Launcher even with the jacket parts attached. The bazooka can be mounted by removing the sensor unit and retracting the barrel.

POINT.03Joint mechanisms
that enable a wide range
of articulation

Joint mechanisms that enable a wide range of articulation

Sinanju Stein, a sibling unit of the Unicorn Gundam, has sleek proportions, and it performed swift movements in the film.
This Ver.Ka kit incorporates flexible articulation mechanisms in the elbows and knees, and the leg thrusters can move independently.

A wide range of articulation is maintained while exhibiting mechanical features.

This is a side view of the right leg in a standing pose. The knee joints are almost fully concealed by the knee pads (covers) and the leg thrusters.

The knees have dual-joint structures and can be bent deeply, while the knee pads move in conjunction and divide. The knee joints can be exposed as the parts move, and the internal details can be observed. The ankle guard parts can also be moved and the soles of the feet also split to avoid interference with the movements of the ankles.

Markings unique to the kit designed by Hajime Katoki

The new markings unique to this Ver.Ka kit were designed by Katoki. The designs were created under the concept that the MS is disguised as a unit belonging to The Sleeves, and it has the same emblems as the red Sinanju on the shoulders and front skirt. These markings are recreated with water decals.
