GUNDAM Café Costume COLLECTION ～2021 Autumn～ Starts Today! It Features Greetings and Special Videos!

The GUNDAM Café Costume COLLECTION ～2021 Autumn～ event has started today, Friday, October 22nd, at all locations of GUNDAM Café, Gundam’s official café, and at Osaka’s GUNDAM SQUARE.

This event features six characters chosen through the “Who’s Going to Wear the GUNDAM Café Uniform?!” poll held in May and June. In addition to Garma Zabi, Shiro Amada, Banagher Links, and Hathaway Noa, it will also feature Amuro Ray and Quattro Bajeena, for a total of six characters portrayed in new illustrations as wearing the GUNDAM Café uniform.
At GUNDAM Café TOKYO, we will serve dishes reproducing those eaten by the pilots. At all shops, we will offer drinks (including those that come with a clear bottle) and fortuneLattes. We have also prepared novelties and original merchandise, so don’t miss those!

We have installed visual boards, called GUNDAM Café Greetings, of the characters wearing the GUNDAM Café uniform. They are located close to the entrance and in front of the cash register, so it looks like the characters are greeting you into the restaurant.
The characters’ visual boards will change positions every day, and some characters will have days off depending on the day, so you can enjoy these differences every time you come to the Café. Check the characters’ schedule on GUNDAM Café’s official website.

Moreover, at GUNDAM Café TOKYO and GUNDAM SQUARE, in addition to special movies that compile famous scenes of the six characters that appear in this fair, we will again offer the food items from the Hathaway Release Commemorative Fair that reproduce those that appeared in the film, alongside new dishes. Make sure not to miss them.

Gundam Café’s reproduced dishes are dishes that analyze ingredient size, quantity, arrangement, crockery style, and historical background dining scenes in the anime and recreate them with extreme attention to detail under the supervision of Sunrise.

For example, the Federation Rations from Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team, which we serve in this event, we analyzed the way the vegetables were cut, the arrangement layout, and the crockery style from their appearance in a scene from the opening. Right after that scene, a soldier says, “We work so hard, and this is all we’re getting?” with a disappointed look on his face. We inferred the ingredients from that look and prepared a satisfying, flavorful dish based on real army rations.

The rations served before the end of the One Year War were not balanced in their color or nourishment. Still, in the dining scenes set at the officers’ cafeteria in the Davao Air Force Base, as pictured in Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway, the food was colorful and balanced and there were a variety of dishes on offer. Those details vividly depict the historical setting, even through food.
Those reproduced dishes that recreate not only the look, but also all the information that you can infer from that scene and their historical background, will be on offer for a limited period until Tuesday, November 30th.
