More Than Just Appearances! A Report on the Recreated Dishes Offered During the GUNDAM Café Costume COLLECTION ~2021 Autumn~

The GUNDAM Café Costume COLLECTION ~2021 Autumn~ is currently being held at the GUNDAM Café and GUNDAM SQUARE.

This fair features specially drawn illustrations of Garma Zabi, Shiro Amada, Banagher Links, and Hathaway Noa, the four characters who were chosen in the “Who's Going to Wear the GUNDAM Café Uniform?!” poll that was held in May and June. Along with them, Amuro Ray and Quattro Bajeena are also being featured. All six characters will be wearing the GUNDAM Café uniform in their illustrations. All stores will offer Drinks with Clear Bottles, fortuneLattes, novelties, and original merchandise.

At GUNDAM Café TOKYO BRAND CORE, a menu featuring recreations of foods the characters ate in the series.
These dishes were taken from meal scenes in the series and were analyzed for the size of ingredients, volume, the plating layout, the texture of the dishes, and the historical background. The dishes were developed under the supervision of SUNRISE and were perfected after a lot of small adjustments, so they’re all dishes that were put together with a lot of care.

First, it starts with “After the Speech at Dakar,” a drink inspired by the glass that Amuro held in his hand in “The Day of Dakar,” episode 37 of Mobile Suit Z Gundam.

Also from Mobile Suit Z Gundam, this meal recreates the Argama Warship Meal that Quattro Bajeena had in episode 32, “Unidentified Mobile Suits.”

This set features the drink that was in Garma’s glass in “Garma’s Fate,” episode 10 of Mobile Suit Gundam, as well as a pilot lunch made in his image. The drink is apple ginger–flavored and the pilot lunch is dotted with purple to reflect Garma himself.

From a scene in the opening of Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team comes the Rations from the Federation Forces meal were distributed in the rain. The meal includes the chunkily cut vegetables, the layout of the rations, and recreated the texture of the dishware used.

These dishes and special drinks were brought back from the Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway event that was held from April to June.

The drinks are the two drinks that Hathaway and Gigi ordered in the VIP room at Davao Airport.

There are also visual boards posted around each store of the characters wearing the uniform called the GUNDAM Café Greeting.

There is also original merchandise using specially drawn illustration of the six characters wearing the GUNDAM Café uniform, such as the MODEL SHEET AS, Magnet Badges, and smartphone stands.
