Behind-the-Scenes Introduction for Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom! Annecy International Animation Film Festival Photo Report

The Annecy International Animation Film Festival, the world’s largest animation festival, was held for one week from Sunday, June 9th to Saturday, June 15th, in Annecy, France.

At the film festival, a Work In Progress session was held for the new virtual reality (VR) film Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom. Bandai Namco Filmworks producer Kenichi Iyadomi, Albyon’s technical art director Gaël Chaize, and Albyon producer Vincent Dudouet took to the stage to talk about the behind-the-scenes production of the film.

The session discussed how Bandai Namco Filmworks and the Albyon production team collaborated, the animation and character creation process, and the creative process and technical innovations that went into making the film a reality. It was also announced that the film will be released in Fall 2024.

Silver Phantom is scheduled to be released for Meta's VR headset Meta Quest, so stay tuned for further updates.
