Enjoy the Gundam Universe in the Yokohama Bay Area! GUNDAM PORT YOKOHAMA Starts on February 19th!

As a part of BANDAI NAMCO Group’s cross-platform Gundam Project, GUNDAM PORT YOKOHAMA will be held from Saturday, February 19th in the bay area of Yokohama (Kanagawa Prefecture).

GUNDAM PORT YOKOHAMA is a celebration of the extension of the opening period of GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA (GFY), the Gundam general facility where the life-sized, 18-meter moving Gundam stands.
Visitors can enjoy the Gundam universe at all the main spots of Yokohama’s bay area. Exhibitions and events will be held at the Yokohama shopping malls Yokohama Landmark Tower and MARK IS Minatomirai, as well as collaboration projects with all the stations on the Minatomirai line and joint projects with GFY. The events will be basically free of charge and will be held until Sunday, March 13th.

<Port 1: Exhibition of a 17-Meter Balloon That Reproduces the Last Shooting>
We will display a balloon reproducing the memorable Last Shooting scene from Mobile Suit Gundam’s last episode. The balloon is approximately 17 meters tall and reproduces the unforgettable scene in which the Gundam points the rifle in its right hand up towards the Zeong head. Visitors can experience this impressive scene from close by, thanks to a special show that includes video footage and lights.

<Port 2: Here Gather the Gundam R (Recycle) Operation Works! Exhibition of the Works Created using Runners>
There will be a special exhibition including the 1/1 Runner Gundam Head that was displayed at the Gundam R Operation FINAL held in November 2021 in Shinjuku, as well as works created in collaboration with the media artist Yoichi Ochiai and the creative company NAKED,INC. Moreover, the latest GUNPLA and Gundam figures will also be on display at the same location.

<Port 3: A Brand-New Projection Mapping Show Featuring GFY’s Moving Gundam and the Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue>
This projection mapping show features a dream-like collaboration between GFY’s RX-78F00 Gundam and Diver City Tokyo Plaza’s Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue. In the Dockyard Garden, designated by the Japanese government as important cultural property, this show will create an impactful, immersive experience in which the Mobile Suit Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn‘s universes cross, using starboard and port as screens.

<Port 4: Freedom Gundam Balloon Appears in the Atrium!>
The Freedom Gundam, a Mobile Suit that appears in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, will appear as an approximately 5-meter tall balloon in the top part of the atrium in the first floor Grand Galleria.

<Port 5: Gundam R Operation - GUNDAM PORT YOKOHAMA Branch-Off Edition @ MARK IS Minatomirai>
In this venue, we will offer an opportunity to learn more about recycling by distributing the plastic model Ecopla 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Assembling Experience Version and a special leaflet. Personally throwing the runners (i.e., the frame parts of the plastic models) in the recycling box will help you feel recycling closer to you. We will also have an exhibition regarding how GUNPLA are recycled.

<Port 6: Exhibition of the Newest Gundam Series Products>
We will display all the newest BANDAI NAMCO Group products from the Gundam series, such as the latest videogames, cards, snacks and food, apparel, figures, stationery, and other merchandise.

We have recreated the inside of the White Base, the assault ship that appears in the Mobile Suit Gundam series, and set up a life-sized reproduction of the captain’s seat and the yoke. A video is screened on the walls on the sides of the captain’s seat that shows the universe and the Earth as seen from the ship’s windows.
We will also display a 1/144-size White Base. Visitors can enjoy a video that explains the specs of the White Base and compiles its most famous scenes.

We will exhibit the cards and the game body of the latest arcade card game Mobile Suit Gundam Arsenal Base, which will be playable at arcades all over Japan from Thursday, February 24th, at the Mirai Tube inside Minatomirai Station.
Moreover, we will distribute an exclusive Promotion Card at the booth featuring the GUNDAM PORT YOKOHAMA key visual design and a B5-sized flyer styled after a Jumbo Carddass with the Aile Strike Gundam card design.

<Port 9: A 1/1 Gundam Head GUNPLA and Gundam Works Optical Illusions Make Their Appearance at Bashamichi Station>
A 1/1 Gundam Head will be exhibited at the event space inside Bashamichi Station. Moreover, visitors can enjoy optical illusions based on the latest movie Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island, screening from Friday, June 3rd, and the special version of Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans, which will air on TV from Spring 2022.

We will hold the Gundam R Operation - GUNDAM PORT YOKOHAMA Branch-Off Edition at the event space outside the ticket gates in Bashamichi Station. We will distribute the plastic model Ecopla 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Assembling Experience Version and a special leaflet, collect runners, and hold an exhibition regarding how GUNPLA are recycled.

<Port 10: Scan Your GUNPLA and Take Part in a Battle Game! ROAD TO GUNPLA BATTLE Test Scan Event Vol.1
A test event for the ROAD TO GUNPLA BATTLE Project, aimed at making real GUNPLA battles a reality, will be held at GFY. Visitors can scan their GUNPLA and enjoy battles in a virtual game space. Visitors who do not carry their own GUNPLA can still take part in the battles by using the GUNPLA provided at the venue.

A Stamp Rally will be held at the six locations of GUNDAM PORT YOKOHAMA. We have prepared great exclusive items as prizes at the goal, the GFY ticket counter. Wander around Yokohama’s bay area for this stamp rally and enjoy the Gundam universe at each venue.
