North America’s biggest anime event, Anime Expo 2011, was held this July 1st through 4th in Los Angeles.
This year had a lot to please overseas Gundam fans, with an AX-first official Sunrise panel and Q&A, screenings of
A wakening of the Trailblazer and
Mobile Suit Gundam UC, and an autograph session with director Mizushima and English cast!
Bandai’s booth displayed and sold a wide variety of Gundam goods, including Gunpla. New releases, including MG Gundam Epyon (EW)s and RG RX-78 Gundams fresh off the boat from Japan, were on sale!
Special guest Seiji Mizushima, director of
Gundam 00, attracted a line of fans hoping for autographed
A wakening of the Trailblazer Blu-rays and DVDs, given a special advance release at the event!
Four members of the English cast were on hand at the
Gundam UC panel (Left-right: Michael Sinterniklaas [Angelo, Voice Director], Yuri Lowenthal [Riddhe], Tara Platt [Marida], Stephanie Sheh [Mineva]) Fans were eager to hear about the dubbing process and their memories of recording.
The
Gundam UC cast were also present at the autograph session, and drew quite a long line themselves.
