Mr. Fukui expected #2, Unicorn Gundam's activation in episode 1, to take the top spot, but Daguza's final fight in episode 3 edged it out. His own favorite, Audrey's first hot dog in episode 1, ranked in at #15.
Fukui: This scene flying or not determined Gundam UC's 'moe potential'. The staff went over it for a long time during production. Looking over the original scenario, we were sure we had something for adults. But we needed something to hook the current generation of viewers. The mecha quality was all there, but we needed something a little slice-of-life, too. We paid special attention to the hot dog's color.
From left to right: Suganuma, Fukui, Ifukube. Production on episode 4 is proceeding full apace. The focus is mecha scenes, and Fukui himself describes it as 'a field day for mecha'.
A special trailer for Gundam UC episode 4, At the Bottom of the Gravity Well, was then unveiled.
Appearing in the video was Bright Noa! An internal debate raged over the question of whether to add white to his eyes, with the final decision a smal spot to fit with other characters while remaining true to his First Gundam roots.
An October 1st premiere and concert by Hiroyuki Sawano and a live orchestra were also announced. Six cities (Osaka, Okayama, Niigata, Shizuoka, Nagoya, and Hiroshima) will host advance screenings beginning October 25th, and Shinjuku Picadilly will hold an all-night screening on November 11th. Gundam UC continues to steam ahead.
Fukui closed the event with a message for fans.
Fukui: ''Gundam UC' is produced with a budget and schedule that may never be matched. As a fan myself, I feel lucky to be able to follow it as it's produced. I hope you all support it to the conclusion!'
