The Gundam Metaverse 3rd Limited Time Opening is finally beginning next week. It will take place from Thursday, December 5th to Monday, December 9th, and will feature collaborative live performances with Hatsune Miku, a Metaverse Shop, and content made in cooperation with Gundam fans.

There is also a campaign being held where you can win prizes by pre-registering, so be sure to check it out.

The Gundam Info editorial team got a sneak peek into the Gundam Metaverse, which is currently in development and is preparing to open for a limited time.
After introducing the Metaverse space, we will share details about the highly anticipated Hatsune Miku collaboration live performance, so be sure to read this report all the way until the end.

This time, the Gundam Metaverse 3rd Limited Time Opening can be accessed using a PC. Much like the previous limited opening events, anyone can easily access it from a web browser such as Chrome or Edge. You do not have to have a high-spec gaming PC as it can be enjoyed on PCs with average specs, and it can be said that Metaverse experiences are gradually becoming more accessible by the day.

In the Gundam Metaverse, you begin with creating an avatar which will be your alter ego within the metaverse. Once your avatar is ready, you can then move to the main lobby and visit various areas offering a wide variety of content. Some areas may seem familiar to those who participated in previous limited-time open events. However, both the avatar creation function and the main lobby have been significantly updated.

The updated avatar customization function allows you to change body types, hairstyles, beards, and skin colors, as well as equip headgear resembling the head of Mobile Suits, weapons, shields, backpacks, Gundam costumes, and more. Avatar items such as leek-shaped penlights and happi coats created to celebrate the collaboration with Hatsune Miku are also available.

The avatar levitation function, which was implemented in the second limited opening event, has been changed to a jump function. This function can be used to jump over certain objects in the main lobby such as the hedges and stairs. There is also an emote function where your avatar can express different emotions through movements.

In addition to the basic chat function, a letter function has been implemented that enables users to communicate with each other through messages that can be placed anywhere within the metaverse space. This feature may be familiar to online game players, as it allows you to leave traces of your activities on the map.

The camera mode is a feature often seen in various metaverses where you can take photos. However, the function available during this event allows you to take photos with a wider perspective, and can also be used to check out sections that are hard-to-see.

The main lobby is a space based on a space colony, and the city on the other side of the colony can be seen on the ceiling, creating an immersive view. Various Mobile Suit statues are lined up outside, and you can enjoy close-up looks.

The digital signs based on floating advertisements also serve as guides that indicate the positions of the attractions right below them.

The main lobby is full of exciting details. For example, a statue of Zok is displayed in the aquarium, and there is also a hidden spot where you can peek inside from the side.

The main lobby is filled with vehicles and objects from the Gundam series, advertisements for companies that Gundam fans may notice, and street art with motifs from various Gundam titles. Some works of art are even recreations of famous places that exist in the real world.

This is an area featuring Mellow, an interactive AI character. You can practice using the chat function with Mellow or ask questions you have about the Metaverse.

This is a theater where you can enjoy visual media such as promotional videos. There are also statues of the Zaku II F Type (Solari) and Gundam EX that appear in Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance.

A Carddass vending machine is placed in the main lobby. The collection of cards has been expanded, while also including the Knight Gundam from the first and second limited opening event. There is also a Carddass binder function that you can use to look at your collection.

The shop that was available during the first limited opening event has returned. You can purchase Gundam-related items and Hatsune Miku collaboration items while looking at the products on display.

This is a map showing the main lobby and the layout of each content area. It is as large as a large park or tourist location.

The Gundam Metaverse Live will be the first round in the special collaboration project with Hatsune Miku. Anyone who accessed the Gundam Metaverse can enjoy this performance.

During this approximately 20-minute collaborative live, Hatsune Miku's popular songs such as "Senbonzakura" and "World is Mine" will be featured, as well as "Fly! Gundam" from Mobile Suit Gundam and "FLYING IN THE SKY" from Mobile Fighter G Gundam, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2024.
Please note that the live performances will be held in real-time, and you will not be able to re-enter the venue. Furthermore, participants must be within the venue before the performance begins. They will be held every day during the event period, and many performances are scheduled to be held over the weekend.

This is what the venue will look like. Miku will appear on the stage at the center of the venue, and participants can use their avatars' emotes to cheer her on. The design of the stage and background will change for each song.
The popular "Senbonzakura" was performed in a venue surrounded by countless cherry blossoms, and petals fluttered around the stage.

"FLYING IN THE SKY" was performed during the climax of the event, and the Earth surrounded by beam ropes appeared in the background as the Shining Gundam and the Shuffle Alliance further livened up the venue.

Another major theme of this event is “co-creation with fans with GUNPLA." There are digital dioramas of the masterpieces of GUNPLA World Championship winners, and a wide variety of content created by fans including GUNPLA created by fans participating in the official GUNPLA fan community Builder's Note, as well as experimental 3D models created with Smartphone GUNPLA Scan β.

Digital dioramas of masterpieces, including award-winning works from the GUNPLA BUILDERS WORLD CUP 11th TOURNAMENT, an official GUNPLA world tournament, will be displayed. They have been meticulously and precisely scanned and exhibited as dynamic digital dioramas that can only be experienced in the Metaverse.

Six digital dioramas are on display, and the background of the diorama exhibition space each has different decorations. Some of the works on display are not static dioramas and have moving elements such as dynamic smoke effects. Visit the metaverse to enjoy this unique experience.

Masterpieces created by the circle members of Builder's Note, an official GUNPLA community,
will also be shown in museum-style displays alongside photos posted in Builder's Note. You can also react to each work (there are a total of over 1,000 works!). The photo gallery displays countless GUNPLA photos that will change every day based on the theme of the exhibition.

This time, you can enjoy exhibits focusing on five GUNPLA circles.

More than 20 works created using Smartphone GUNPLA Scan β, which turns photos of GUNPLA taken with smartphones into 3D models, are also on display.

One of the most anticipated content using scanned data from GUNPLA is the realization of GUNPLA battles. During this event, you can experience a mini-game using selected scanned GUNPLA. Although we aim to create a system where players can use their own GUNPLA in the future, this event offers you a selection of GUNPLA prepared in advance by volunteers.
There are two types of games: "Run Action," a solo challenge, and "3on3 Battles," which are team-based experiences. We will introduce both games while mainly focusing on 3on3 Battles.

Run Action is a single-player mode where 20 types of GUNPLA can be used. These models were created by actual users and were scanned and imported into the metaverse.

Players can defeat enemies that appear in facilities around the colony and in space, while obtaining bonus items such as Haros and recovery items. The goal is to destroy the Musai.

As its name suggests, 3on3 Battles are battles fought with teams of three. Team battles where users fight each other, and three-way irregular matches will be held where enemy NPC units also appear on the map. There will also be a non-PvP training mode where players can practice and get accustomed to the controls.

Winners are determined by the scores you earn, which you receive by defeating enemies or winning raid battles. The scores you can gain will increase over time, so it's important to decide when and how you engage in combat.

At the start of the game, your ship and most of the enemy ships are small, but larger enemy ships and even larger raid bosses will also begin to appear. By fulfilling certain conditions, your ship can also receive a temporary power-up, allowing you to enjoy ever-changing battles.

This is what a giant raid boss looks like. You can get high scores by defeating them, but they are hard to beat alone and require cooperation with your allies. If you feel confident with your skills, try to defeat them within the time limit.
