MGSD Gundam Barbatos
Scheduled to go on sale on Saturday, October 21, 2023
Price: 4,290 JPY (tax included)
The Gundam Barbatos from Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans joins MGSD, a whole new high-end SD brand that integrates technology from MG series kits.
The details of the appearance/textures of the Gundam Frame, a major feature of the Gundam Barbatos, has been thoroughly recreated in SD scale (approximately 115mm tall.)
The movable shafts inside the head, neck, and torso allow for a wide range of articulation, and the chin can be pulled inward/point upwards, the arms can swing left and right, and the body can tilt forward and backward. The shoulder armor for this MGSD rendition also has a unique gimmick where the central armor piece moves in conjunction when the bottom section is lowered.
The twin eyes are expressed with a dual-layered structure where clear parts are placed over detailed internal parts.
Clear parts that have been applied with Reflection Cut technology, intricately shaped engravings that efficiently reflect light, are used for the chest, knees, and shoulders as an original feature unique to this MGSD kit.
Parts made using gloss injection incorporate Realistic Metallic Gloss Injection, which gives off an enhanced metallic luster that can be seen within the details.
A transforming foldable 300mm Smoothbore Cannon, Sword, and Mace are included, which can be mounted onto the backpack. The Mace has a unique gimmick where the tip extends when the handle is pushed in, and the four blades unfold in conjunction.
