RG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.2.0
Going on sale on Saturday, August 10, 2024 / Price: 3,850 JPY (tax incl.)
The RX-78-2 Gundam is now available as an RG Ver.2.0 kit that combines the latest interpretations and a return to its origins.
The internal frame within this item has a whole new design inspired by a semi-monocoque structure that allows you to experience the construction of a Mobile Suit. The joint structures return to the original designs and adopt new structures where the parts that look like joints bend properly thanks to a reinterpretation of the axis of movements.
The legs are also based on a reexamination of the concept of the Gundam as a melee combat MS, and are fitted with joints using a composite frame with outlines closely resembling humans when they are moved. The panel lines reflect the functions of each mechanism and are divided into functional blocks designed to resemble the actual seams between armor parts.
Intricate details have also been added to the exterior design, while also focusing on the edges and curves of the parts and creating white sections with parts cast in two different white tones to convey the amount of details in this three-dimensional representation.
In addition, details are engraved on parts that are hidden from the outside, such as joints and the back of parts. It has a flawless design that integrates appearance design through methods such as eliminating conspicuous mounting holes. The intricate color scheme of the head is thoroughly reproduced with multiple colorful parts, and details have been added to sections such as the twin eyes, main camera, magazine drums, and cheek ducts.
The Core Fighter can be transformed into the Core Block. Its proportions during aircraft form have been recreated while newly developed auxiliary joint gimmicks built into the compact Core block allow for the Gundam to perform flexible poses. The chest armor covering the cockpit has a gimmick unique to this RG kit where it opens and closes by moving up and down.
