MGEX is a new brand that celebrates the 40th anniversary of GUNPLA and pursues the limits of Mobile Suit expressions under certain themes by combining the culmination of BANDAI SPIRITS technology and different materials.
The theme of this first installment is an “Extreme Light-up Structure” that has a thoroughly calculated structure and new light-up effects created with LED units.
The eyes and main camera on the head of the MGEX 1/100 Unicorn Gundam Ver.Ka turns on when the button is pressed. The Psycho-Frame in the main unit glows red and green, and pulsating light-up effects can be enjoyed.
The newly adopted flexible LED sheets have resulted in an easy assembly and a space-saving design. This technology allows for the first Unicorn Gundam to transform, light up, change colors, and articulate at the same time.
Its entire form and proportions have been reconstructed under Mr. Hajime Katoki’s full supervision.
Wires can be used to light up the clear parts in the shield even if they are placed away from the main MS unit, and water decals based on new designs created for this plastic model kit are included.
The designated MS Cage can store the battery box for the Light-up Unit and has functions where the positions of the support pillars can be changed and the armaments can be mounted.
