Production of a Feature Film, the Spin-Off SEED ECLIPSE, and Other Projects Will Be Carried Out!
The Bandai Namco group GUNDAM Project has announced the start of the new project GUNDAM SEED PROJECT ignited to celebrate the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED TV anime reaching its twentieth anniversary in 2022, today, Friday, May 28.
This project focuses mainly on the already announced production of a feature film, and will see several projects related to Mobile Suit Gundam SEED happening all over the world.
The project comprises the Life-Size Freedom Gundam Statue at LaLaport Shanghai Jinqiao in China, whose opening ceremony took place today; the GUNDAM docks at Shanghai event, which started on the same day; a brand-new Mobile Suit Gundam SEED videogame; and the serialization of the official spin-off Gundam SEED MSV Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Eclipse manga and sales of the related GUNPLA.
Moreover, we will be announcing more projects shortly.

The movie will depict the events after the TV series and is being earnestly produced under the direction of Mitsuo Fukuda.

Regarding the Life-Size Freedom Gundam Statue
The Life-Size Freedom Gundam Statue is the first life-sized Gundam statue to be placed overseas. It is located inside Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Shanghai Jinqiao, which opened on Wednesday, April 28 in Shanghai, China.
The Freedom Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, a series popular overseas as well, has been reproduced in the same scale as the one in the anime, standing 18.03 meters tall. It is the first life-sized Gundam statue to have large wings on its back, giving it an impressive silhouette.
Moreover, a new animated video directed by Mitsuo Fukuda and dramatic effects connected to it may be enjoyed on the large LED screens installed on LaLaport’s walls.

The first large-scale event in mainland China GUNDAM docks at Shanghai will take place at Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Shanghai Jinqiao starting today, Friday, May 28, to Sunday, July 11.
At the venue, we have prepared a large number of surprises, such as a corner that allows guests to learn about the history of Gundam and the anime, free GUNPLA-building experiences, and limited-edition items that can only be purchased at this event.

The production of a brand-new videogame in the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series has been announced.

The GUNPLA of the main MS from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Eclipse will already be available from the Master Grade (MG) Series.
It reproduces this unit’s characteristic, changing from a flight form to a Mobile Suit form, while sticking to the latest MG SEED design. It is also faithful to the story’s equipment changes as it is possible to equip several weapon packs on it.
Other than weapons such as the Beam Saber and the Beam Rifle, it is possible to equip a shield on its arms and reproduce the Beam Shield action thanks to the included effect parts.
