A life-size Freedom Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED will be built in 2021 in Shanghai, China, and will be the first life-size Gundam overseas.

The statue of Freedom Gundam will be constructed and displayed in 2021 in front of the Mitsui Fudosan Group's first commercial facility Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Shanghai Jinqiao alongside the grand opening of the facility.
The Freedom Gundam is a Mobile Suit featured in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, a series broadcast on TV in 2002, and is an extremely popular MS among Gundam fans overseas.

The Freedom Gundam Statue will be the first life-size Gundam statue overseas following the Life-Size Unicorn Gundam Statue in Odaiba, Tokyo, and GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA (a moving life-size Gundam exhibit facility), which is scheduled to open in Yamashita Pier, Yokohama, in 2020.
