The JAL×GUNDAM FLY TO THE FUTURE PROJECT Begins! An Osaka-Kansai Expo-themed JAL Gundam JET Takes Flight in Japan from March 3rd!

The 2025 World Expo, which will be held in Yumeshima, Osaka from April, and Japan Airlines (JAL) and Bandai Namco Holdings have teamed up to launch the JAL x GUNDAM FLY TO THE FUTURE PROJECT.

As a central symbol of this project, the Osaka-Kansai Expo-specification JAL Gundam JET will begin flying domestic flights on Monday, March 3rd. The Osaka-Kansai Expo-specification JAL Gundam JET is a specially painted aircraft with images of the RX-78F00/E Gundam (EX-001 G.L.R.S.S. Feather Unit) that will appear in the videos shown in the GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION (Gundam Pavilion), a private pavilion exhibited by Bandai Namco Holdings at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, as well as designs of the Osaka-Kansai Expo's official character, Myakumyaku. Details such as the launch date and flight schedule will be released on the JAL website at a later date.

The JAL Gundam JET created through this collaboration will fly across the skies of Japan as a beacon that shares the goal of the GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION (a place where people from all over the world connect through Gundam and think about the future) to children who will pave the way for the future.

JAL has also teamed up with the Gundam franchise for visitors from abroad to rediscover the charm of Japan through anime and has organized commemorative tours around Japan that offer limited-edition merchandise.

■JAL Dynamic Package with Limited-Edition GUNPLA
During the Osaka-Kansai Expo, JAL Dynamic Packages will be available with flights taking off from airports across Japan to the Kansai region. Tours are scheduled to be released in March.
The sets include an airline ticket to the Kansai region, accommodation in the Kansai region, and a JAL-design GUNPLA to celebrate the Osaka-Kansai Expo.

EXPO2025 1/144 RX-78F00/E Gundam (EX-001 G.L.R.S.S. Feather Unit) [JAL Special Package Ver.]
The RX-78F00/E Gundam that will appear in the videos shown in the GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION at the Osaka-Kansai Expo has been recreated in 1/144 scale. It comes with original decals (stickers that can be applied to the plastic model kit) that were inspired by JAL.
The package has a special design that features the Osaka-Kansai Expo specification JAL Gundam JET.

■GUNPLA and other collaboration items will be available through "In-flight Shopping at Home"
During the Osaka-Kansai Expo, JAL-exclusive color GUNPLA and other items will be on sale in limited quantities through "In-flight Shopping at Home(*)."
*This is a service that allows you to purchase in-flight items for three days after pre-registering using the in-flight Wi-Fi when boarding a JAL domestic flight.

The Gundam’s colors are based on JAL's red, white, and gray corporate colors. The red accents stand out against the white body to create a beautiful finish, and the package has a simple white and red JAL design.

■Osaka-Kansai Expo Specifaction "JAL x Gundam Restaurant Bus"
A three-meter tall double-decker restaurant bus with an open ceiling will be painted with the same design as the Osaka-Kansai Expo Specifications JAL Gundam JET. In this restaurant bus, you can enjoy hot food prepared in the kitchen on the first floor in the second-floor restaurant space. It will travel all over Japan while the Expo is being held, and you can enjoy local cuisine along with the scenery.
