Osaka Kansai Expo Edition JAL Gundam JET Press Unveiling Event Report! Domestic Flights Begin Today!
Limited-edition GUNPLA will be released, and a JAL x Gundam Restaurant Bus will begin services!

A press unveiling event for the Osaka-Kansai Expo Edition JAL Gundam JET, which begins services today on Monday, March 3rd, was held at Haneda Airport in Tokyo.
The JAL Gundam JET was created as the central symbol of the JAL x GUNDAM FLY TO THE FUTURE PROJECT initiative created through a collaboration between Japan Airlines (JAL) and Bandai Namco Holdings.
It has been decorated with the RX-78F00/E Gundam (EX-001 G.L.R.S.S. Feather Unit) that appears in the videos featured in the GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION (Gundam Pavilion), a private pavilion that Bandai Namco Holdings will be exhibiting at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, as well as designs of the Osaka-Kansai Expo's official character, Myakumyaku.
At the unveiling ceremony, Kumiko Miyasaka, Executive Managing Director and President of West Japan Branch of Japan Airlines, Nobuhiko Momoi, Director of Bandai Namco Holdings, and Jun Takashina, Vice Secretary General of the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition, took to the stage and shared their thoughts and hopes regarding the project.

Miyasaka: "This project began when we thought of the idea of incorporating the Gundam series into a collaboration that connects various regions in Japan with the world. We hope that many visitors will come to the Osaka-Kansai Expo, travel all around Japan, and enjoy various exciting experiences. We hope that many travelers will continue exploring Japan even after the Expo and help create a fun society where people can feel joy throughout their daily lives."
Momoi: "Without the wings of JAL, we wouldn’t have been able to share Japanese content with the world to this extent.
We hope to convey dreams, hope, excitement, and joy to people all over the world, especially to children who will bear the future, as the JAL Gundam JET soars across the skies.

Takashina: "This is the third JAL jet designed for the Osaka-Kansai Expo. When we started discussions for the first jet, some concerned voices were saying, ‘Miyakumyaku looks too unsettling. Are we really using it in our design?' (laughs). Thankfully, Miyakumyaku has had more opportunities to collaborate with various characters, but this is the first collaboration with such a (literally) gigantic entity, and we’re very excited. With 41 days left until the opening of the Expo, our preparations are in the final stages. We hope to liven up the Expo alongside the JAL Gundam JET.”
Miyakumyaku also made an appearance at the ceremony, and limited edition GUNPLA and the JAL x Gundam Restaurant Bus, which will operate throughout the country during the Expo were also on display.
Check the JAL x GUNDAM FLY TO THE FUTURE PROJECT website for more details, including the operation schedule of the restaurant bus.
