A Collaboration with Minna Denryoku! The GFY Moving Gundam Has Begun Using Electricity from the Hama Wing!
This will speed up decarbonization by combining entertainment with renewable energy!
GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA (GFY), a facility that made the dream of seeing an 18m life-size Gundam move into reality, will begin using electricity supplied by Hama Wing, the wind farm in Yokohama, starting in May.
Every sector of the Bandai Namco Group has established a goal to reduce CO2 emissions annually, and are working hard to do so by making more eco-friendly initiatives. In April, it announced that all locations owned by the company such as office buildings, factories, and entertainment facilities will release zero carbon by the year 2050, and it is currently working toward that goal.
Minna Denryoku endorses the Zero Carbon Yokohama goal and worked with Evolving G, a company that agrees with decarbonization to make the collaboration on the Moving Gundam a reality. By collaborating not just with municipalities but also with the entertainment industry, it will raise societal interest in renewable energy as well as contribute to helping solve the climate change problem.
GFY is already using 100% renewable energy and emits no CO2 from electrical sources.

About GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA
This is an experience-based facility in Yokohama that has made the dream of seeing an 18m Gundam move into a reality. Evolving G collaborated with the city of Yokohama to open this facility for a limited time (until March 31, 2022) as part of the project celebrating the 40th anniversary of the TV airing of Mobile Suit Gundam.
The facility is split into two areas: the GUNDAM-DOCK where storage and maintenance work for the Moving Gundam is performed, and the GUNDAM-LAB where exhibition facilities like ACADEMY where you can have fun while learning all about the Moving Gundam are held. GUNDAM-DOCK includes the GUNDAM-DOCK TOWER, a special observation deck where you can look at the head and body of the Moving Gundam up close from a height of 15-18m (49-59ft).
You can experience the fusion of GUNDAM, a content that is very popular even overseas, with Japan’s manufacturing and technological prowess.
