The "TOKYO Gundam Project 2018" Will Have Tokyo University of the Arts Students Co-produce Gunpla Art Works Together With Children with Disabilities!
"Geidai Arts Special, Arts with the Disabled" to exhibit December 2, 2018.
The "TOKYO Gundam Project 2018" aims at revitalizing the Rikai area and develop global human resources in Tokyo by collaborating with the Tokyo University of the Arts, and create a new program to pair children with disabilities with university students to develop new opportunities together.
In this program, the art students and children with disabilities use gunpla as a motif to collaborate together on art works, the finished works will be displayed at the "Geidai Arts Special, Arts with the Disabled" exhibition by the Tokyo University of the Arts.
As part of this program, on August 25, 2018 (Sat) university students and children attended a workshop using gunpla as a motif. They also visited the gunpla facility "GUNDAM BASE TOKYO" and the life-sized unicorn gundam.
"Geidai Arts Special, Arts with the Disabled" will be held December 1-2, 2018 (Sat.-Sun.) at the Tokyo University of the Arts Rehearsal Hall. Let's go check out these unprecedented gunpla artworks created through a collaboration of gunpla made by children with disabilities with Tokyo University of the Arts student artworks.
At the life-sized Unicorn Gundam statue, a special photo deck is available until November 25, 2018 (Sun), and from November 23, 2018 (Fri.) a winter season illumination begins. And from November 10, 2018 (Sat.) in the Rinkai area (Odaiba, Aomi) there will be photo spots where you can take commemorative photos with characters from "Mobile Suit Gundam NT". "Geidai Arts Special, Arts with the Disabled" Summary
The "Geidai Arts Special, Arts with the Disabled" which began in 2011 is a place where both people with disabilities and those who don't can enjoy music and arts together, with the goal of exploring the possibilities of art, and is a program that the Tokyo University of the Arts holds annually. With the idea of "living together", the artists with disabilities who express their emotions, it is a place where everyone can project their strength to live and receive those feelings as well.
