The newest Gundam series set in Universal Century, "Mobile Suit Gundam NT (Narrative)" was announced on April 20, 2018 (Friday).

This work is part of a new series of titles that portrays the Universal Century over a period of 100 years, and spearheads the "UC NexT 0100" project, which is a mixed media platform involving anime, games, manga and novels.

Harutoshi Fukui, who was in charge of the writing for "Mobile Suit Gundam UC" which sold over 1.8 million blu-rays and DVDs across seven volumes, is working on the script describing the future after "Gundam UC", which will be released in theaters this November.

Production is by Sunrise Studio 1. Directed by Shunichi Yoshizawa, original main character by Kumiko Takahashi, character design by Se Jun Kim, mechanical design by Hajime Katoki and Eiji Komatsu, and music by Hiroyuki Sawano, this is an incredible staff lineup.

Synopsis

U.C. 0097, one year after the opening of "Laplace's Box." Despite the revelation of the Universal Century Charter that acknowledges the existence and rights of Newtypes, the framework of the world has not been greatly altered.

The conflict later dubbed the "Laplace Incident" is thought to have ended with the downfall of the Neo Zeon remnants known as the Sleeves. In its final battle, two full psycho-frame mobile suits displayed power beyond human understanding. The white unicorn and the black lion were sealed away to remove this danger from people's consciousness, and they should now be completely forgotten.

However, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03, which disappeared two years earlier, is now about to show itself in the Earth Sphere once more. A golden phoenix... named Phenex.

What is UC NexT 0100

Beginning from the battle between Amuro and Char in "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack", it is a universal century saga that connects with "Mobile Suit Gundam UC". From there, titles depicting the next 100 years in Universal Century will be created as new series. "Universal Century" will be featured not only in anime, but games, manga, and novels on a mixed media platform base. It is a project that will cover new and unexplored areas.

【Left】Narrative Gundam

A mobile suit made by Anaheim Electronics and piloted by the main character, Jona Basta. It was developed as a prototype for the RX-93 Nu Gundam, and many portions of its body are made from identical parts. Because it was intended mainly as a testbed for data collection, there are many areas that have not been equipped with armor, leaving the frame structure exposed. Created as a testbed, the base machine is armed only with head vulcans, and during Operation Phoenix Hunt it uses a variety of interchangeable armament provided by Luio & Co.

【Center】UNICORN GUNDAM 03 PHENEX

The golden third unit of the Unicorn Gundam, created using construction data from the white first unit and the black second unit, and based on a full psycho-frame that was delivered early for testing purposes. It went missing in U.C. 0095 after an incident in which it ran wild.

【Right】Sinanju Stein

A prototype mobile suit developed under the UC Project to test the strength and responsiveness of the psycho-frame. Its development code was Stein 01. In U.C. 0094, it was hijacked while being transported aboard the Earth Federation Space Force Clop-class cruiser Unkai.

【Left】Jona Basta

Age 25. An ensign in the Earth Federation Space Force. Jona is the pilot of the Narrative Gundam, which was sent as a reinforcement for Operation Phoenix Hunt. He is a childhood friend of Michele and Rita. As a child, he survived a disaster in Australia.

【Center】Michele Luio

Age 25. A special adviser to Luio & Co. She is adept at fortune-telling with divination sticks, and is highly regarded in political and business circles. Along with the Narrative Gundam, Michele boards the Clop-class space cruiser Damascus when it is deployed as part of Operation Phoenix Hunt.

【Right】Rita Bernal

An ensign in the Earth Federation Space Force. The pilot of the missing Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex. As a little girl, she was one of the so-called "miracle children" who survived a disaster in Australia.
