Opening Ceremony Report
At the opening ceremony, Shinobu Yoshida, Senior Managing Director of the Japan Science Foundation, Ryoji Noyori, Director of the Science Museum, and Makoto Asanuma, President and Representative Director of Bandai Namco Filmworks, gave speeches and cut the ribbon.
Mobile Suit Gundam is a series based in the Universal Century, an expansive world created through rich imagination. I hope that many people, including young children, will be able to experience the appeal and potential of science and technology that will be used in the future through this exhibition. (Yoshida)
This special exhibition allows visitors to actually experience how the latest science, technology, and space engineering connect and resonate with the world of anime, as well as how they affect our daily lives. I hope we are able to convey the appeal of fields such as science and architecture, which constantly take on seemingly impossible challenges, to younger generations. (Noyori)
The Gundam series is based on themes such as human growth and the importance of peace, but also focuses on what the future holds for humanity as a result of science and how science evolves. It is a great honor to have people come into contact with science through the series and become interested. I hope that this exhibition allows more people, especially children, to experience it. (Asanuma)

Highlights of the Exhibition
1.Space Age of Technology
The Gundam series often depicts life in space. Various space development projects currently underway aim to advance humanity into space and make future dreams and hopes a reality through science and technology.
Various space-related technologies, such as space colonies that appear throughout the Gundam series, will be exhibited in a variety of forms with perspectives focused on “space," "environment," and "technology."
2.The Possibility of MS (Mobile Suits)
Mobile Suits expand the physical abilities of human beings in space. The technical aspects of these suits will be presented through introductions to the latest robotics technology in the form of various experiential exhibits. At the venue, visitors can enjoy actual robot operation experiences with robots that may be used in space operations or at disaster sites in the future. Visitors will also have the chance to experience operating robots inspired by the Gundam series.
3.Innovation of Future Lifestyle
This section focuses on the technology that humanity will need to live in space. We as a species must look back at the Earth's environment from the perspective of space. What can we learn from testing food and shelter-related technologies in space and how can we use the results to improve the Earth's environment? Experience a deep dive into our possibilities for the future.
