The "GUNDAM GLOBAL CHALLENGE" is a project that seeks to draw together ideas and inspiration from around the world to create a moving, life-sized Gundam statue in 2019. In the Phase One Results Presentation, of entries received from July 2014 through February 2015 from the general public, four winning ideas were selected by the selection committee that is led by Mobile Suit Gundam director Mr. Yoshiyuki Tomino himself.
In addition, technical supervisor Mr. Shuji Hashimoto provides review and commentary, and representative director Mr. Yasuo Miyakawa reports on the current status and issues of the project. A presentation discussing future prospects was given. (For details of that presentation please refer to the article at this link.)
