Until the previous title, shopping and MS preparation was done from a menu, but now they're done at your own personal 'My Colony', which can be upgraded with Colony Points!
As you raise your colony level, you gain new MSes, new operator characters, new ships, new parts, and can create more groups!
The onscreen 'Next Level' display shows how far until your net upgrade!
Capital, used for upgrading your forces, also returns.
In addition to Generation Breaks with their Break Triggers and Challenge Missions, Missions can also be triggered by fulfilling certain objectives.
The more you clear, the more there are! Try and clear every Mission!
Clearing a Mission reveals new ones, and can be done even if you don't know the objective.
And of course, each cleared Mission rewards you with Capital!

At the beginning of the game, players can choose between 'The Destruction of Nora' and 'Day of the Unicorn'.
Complete scenarios, secret scenarios, and extra scenarios; as you draw closer to the true story, the selection screen's background color will change from blue to green to red to purple to crimson.
Stages in the Day of the Unicorn route feature primarily UC units, and UC units are easy to develop. On the other hand, the 'Destruction of Nora' route focuses on AGE, SEED, 00, and other non-UC units, with units from '90s and '00s series easier to develop.
Of course, you can switch back and forth between routes at will!
