[GUDA] Over 190,000 people have participated in the Gundam R Operation in 2 years!
The Gunpla Recycling Project, which aims to create a recycling-oriented society by recycling GUNPLA runners (the frames for plastic model kit parts) gathered by users, began on Thursday, April 1, 2021.
This led to the Gundam R (Recycling) Operation, which was started in 2021 to further expand this activity and raise awareness in recycling through Gundam and GUNPLA, and has been held in more than 82 locations for over two years, resulting in a total of more than 190,000 participants. This year it was held in all 47 prefectures in Japan.

[GUDA] “Gundam Pavilion (name TBD) will be held at the Osaka/Kansai Expo!
The Gundam Pavilion (name TBD) at the Osaka/Kansai Expo will be set in an “alternate Universal Century” and share the possibilities that lie in our future that are seen in Mobile Suit Gundam.
On Tuesday, July 11th, the 2025 Japan World Expo Osaka Pavilion Promotion Committee and Bandai Namco Holdings agreed to further build up excitement for the Osaka/Kansai Expo and achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The first round in this initiative is GUNPLA Academia, where participants see about the latest technology and processes in plastic model kit making (planning, designing, molding, and production), while learning about sustainable manufacturing initiatives such as recycling plastic waste materials. This will be carried out at elementary schools in Osaka Prefecture from August. The program is being provided to approximately 140,000 fifth and sixth graders attending approximately 1,030 elementary schools (including national, public, private, and those run by ordinance-designated cities) in Osaka Prefecture, and a new system for collecting used runners has also been established. The overall total number of participants in GUNPLA Academia, which started in 2021, is expected to exceed 500,000.
To contribute to build up excitement for the Osaka-Kansai Expo, there are plans to create and exhibit art pieces using the gathered runners, and we are also planning on using them for the Osaka-Kansai Expo itself.
