A GUNPLA Using LIMEX, a New Limestone-based Material, is Here! The First Round Features GUNPLA-Kun!

BANDAI SPIRITS will release a Gundam series plastic model kit (GUNPLA) made of a new limestone-based material called LIMEX for the first time. The first round features GUNPLA-Kun.

LIMEX is a new material created in Japan. Over 50% of it consists of limestone (inorganic substances such as calcium carbonate). By using limestone as a main material instead of petroleum-derived plastics that have been used in the past, the ratio of petroleum-derived plastics in products can be reduced to 50% or less on a weight basis.
By using LIMEX as the material for the GUNPLA-Kun plastic model kit, we will contribute to the reduction of the amount of petroleum-derived plastics we use and the reduction of CO2 emissions, while spreading awareness to reduce the burden we put on the environment.
This is a "painting model" that can be painted with your favorite colors using markers for plastic model kits (sold separately), so you can enjoy making your very own unique GUNPLA-kun!
