A late-night screening of Mobile Fighter G Gundam was presented as part of Sunrise Festival 2016, a theatrical festival of hit Sunrise anime.
The screening featured episodes 37 "Sai Saici's New Attack! Blazing Dragon Gundam", 44 "Schwarz Rests in Grace! Domon's Tearful Attack", 45 "Farewell Master: Master Asia's Last Breath", and "Burning Gundam's Great Triumph: A Hopeful Future; Ready, Go!", each fully remastered in HD for the upcoming Blu-ray release. Seeing G Gundam in high definition on the big screen is a brand-new experience.
After the screening, presents were handed out to lucky winners in the crowd, and Yosuke Akimoto, voice of Master Asia, made a surprise appearance, entering to cheers after his famous introduction.

Speaking of the screening, he said “I’m grateful to be able to stand here today, even 22 years later. Between recording for games, and still singing his character song when I go to karaoke, I feel like I’ve kept Master Asia close to me.”
After the drawing for a signed posted, he told the gathered fans “Some of you have come from so far away. Thank you so much for staying so late. I can barely believe it. I’m so moved.” The fans reacted to his thanks with calls of “Master!” as the curtain fell.
